2 Νοε 2013 · I've been trying to construct a Great Lakes Nosferatu clone recipe since the beer is only available in September/October. After a few attempts I think I've come up with something spot on, which can be enjoyed year round. Crystal 77 can be difficult to find but it's essential to this recipe.

See what I did there?), we bring you our final installment of the autumn seasonals, Great Lakes Brewing's Nosferatu, an imperial red ale. It has been a few years since I have had this, and I'm looking forward to drinking it again.
Nosferatu is a Imperial Red Ale style beer brewed by Great Lakes Brewing Co. in Cleveland, OH. Score: 91 with 2,811 ratings and reviews. Last update: 10-17-2024.
Great Lakes Nosferatu Imperial Red Ale pours to a deep and dark almost blood red color with a medium head of creamy foam and a deep nutty malt nose. Taking a sip, the beer has a beautiful malt profile up front: fruity berry stewed malts, toasted nuts, roasted chestnuts, subtle chocolate, and a dry grassy bitter hop finish.
If you'd like the full skinny, be sure to hit up Great Lakes' "Our History" page. Nosferatu is, like I said, not a pumpkin ale. In fact, it's an 8% ABV Imperial Red Ale that only sees release in September. It has "...a toasty malt body..." and "...a stunning hop bite." There's plenty of malt on the ale's nose.
