24 Ιαν 2023 · Nurse sharks, Ginglymostoma cirratum, have single rows of small, jagged teeth lining both their upper and lower jaws. These teeth have sharp and pointed edges decorated by accessory cusps at each side. Nurse sharks are slow-moving and huge – they can measure up to 14 feet long.
These bottom-dwelling fish possess a unique dental structure, which contributes to their feeding habits and overall ecology. Nurse sharks have non-serrated teeth, unlike the sharp, serrated teeth commonly found in other shark species such as great whites and tiger sharks.
