  1. This is a list of countries by estimated number of privately owned guns per 100 people. The Small Arms Survey 2017[1] provides estimates of the total number of civilian-owned guns in a country. It then calculates the number per 100 people.

  2. The United States leads the world in civilian gun ownership, with a rate of 120.5 firearms per 100 people. The next closest country is Yemen, approximately half that of the U.S, with 52.8 firearms per 100 individuals.
