12 Νοε 2007 · My friend finds that it regularly fails against moderate defensive skill (mine), although he beats up on the weak with it. The Halasz should fare better, since it is related to the King's Gambit, and Black does not have a bishop-blocking e6 at his disposal as he does in the Sicilian formation.
24 Ιαν 2024 · The Halasz Gambit is a deadly gambit that is not analyzed very well or given much attention. It has some dangerous ideas and you can score some quick wins using this gambit. This is certainly one of the best gambits for White at the club level.
In 25 years of blitz chess, I thought I had seen virtually every possible gambit at least once, until I ran into 1 e4 e5 2 d4 exd4 3 f4, known as the Halasz Gambit, according to the perpetrator and one of my daily lunchtime companions, Charley Wernquest.
