Traffic accidents are the main cause of disability and death in adolescents and adults. Injury sites include facial bones, muscles, ligaments, vessels, joints, nerves, and focal or whole-brain injuries.
It is critical for pediatricians and child neurologists alike to be able to evaluate posttraumatic headache (PTHA), identify risk factors for the development of PTHA, provide treatment options, and counsel families appropriately on expectations regarding the nature and duration of symptoms.
