Amplified Bible. For you have need of patient endurance [to bear up under difficult circumstances without compromising], so that when you have carried out the will of God, you may receive and enjoy to the full what is promised. Christian Standard Bible.
EASY. You need to be patient and strong. Then you will continue to do what God wants. As a result, you will receive what God has promised. EHV. Certainly you need patient endurance so that, after you do God’s will, you may receive what was promised. ESV.

13 Ιουλ 2019 · PRINCIPLE: Christians receive reward for remaining true to God’s will under duress. APPLICATION: Receiving promises from God depends on endurance. The point is not the salvation of the soul but remaining true by faith to what God has said. We will see a long list of people who lived by faith in the next chapter.
