HED laces the rims to its Sonic hubs, which feature silky ABEC5 bearings on oversized axles — 12mm in front and 15mm in rear. Oversized axles flex less, resulting in smoother bearing loads and less mechanical drag.
Belgium R Disc rims feature a low profile height combined with a 25mm external width to further refine ride quality and aerodynamic characteristics. Added tubeless compatibility allows the HED Belgium R Disc to provide the ride benefits of a tubular with the convenience of a clincher tire.
This wheelset is light, but doesn't pull out all the gram-shaving stops like the FR, which saves you money for tires and tubes. The Scandium hoops of the FR have remained the same and are paired up with the carbon-shafted, aluminum end-capped FR Sonic front hub, and an all-aluminum rear hub.
The Ardennes CL Tubular Wheelset has a claimed weight of 1642 grams 732 gram front 910 gram rear. Compatible with clincher tires. Black rims with Silver spokes. 700c.
