Hellstone is the only ore in the game whose bar requires a material in addition to its ore to smelt. In the real world, silver nitrate is sometimes called "Hellstone". In 1.0, Hellstone was considered an endgame ore. Hellstone has a special immunity to lava in the code, despite its rarity of 02* stopping that anyway.

Question. I recently beat slime god so I went to make a hellevator for hellstone. But when I got to hell, I got a "Heat exhaustion" debuff that didn't do anything at first, but then I got hit by a fuck-ton of de-buffs and died. How do I get around this???
