10 Αυγ 2009 · If the seat of your Herman Miller Aeron Chair won't go up and down anymore, and it's stuck in it's lowest setting, the height adjustment is broken. Replacing the cylinder will likely fix the problem. Replacing it is easy and inexpensive, and you can save money by doing it yourself.
I Have had this chair for some time (inhereted it) now maybe 3-4 years and this happened to it. Some days ago it just popped out and it wont go/stay in. Its on the right side above the lever that controls the height.
If rocking back & forth in the chair does not fix it, try the following: With both levers on the left hand side in the down position, stand behind the chair and push forward on the top of the back frame. This should release the cam from the bumper.
