5 Ιουν 2011 · I have a (steel) vise with oak blocks with different sized barrel holes also, and can attest it works great. Especially with some rosin (which Brownells sells). Good recommendation!
14 Φεβ 2017 · I've done two barrels with funky home made barrel vises. One I used wooden blocks bored out match the barrel, rosin for traction, and a beefy bench vise. It worked, but a proper barrel vise is so much better. Used a comercial action wrench to spin it off.

1 Απρ 2011 · The springs make jaw changes easy and I can use it for things other than barrels. Remember, if the barrel actualy fits into the bored hole, the fit is line to line at best. You want to clamp against the barrel, not the other half of the vise. A little gap between the top and bottom jaw is needed.
23 Σεπ 2010 · My favorite barrel vise is a homemade unit and uses a hydraulic jack. It's fast, easy to use, and can be tightened with just one hand. It can also double as a press if needed.
