21 Σεπ 2023 · I too, try stuff ... and currently like, for pistols anyway, Hoppe's Elite Foaming Gun Cleaner and Remington Rem Dri-lube. Non messy, non-toxic, both work great ... and don't attract crud. The teflon dri-lube is light, but I clean and lube after every range visit so I feel it protects adequately.

I'm happy with the regular Hoppe's stuff, and I like the smell. They did change something years back to reduce it. The old formula could make your eyes water ...

5 Μαρ 2003 · Hoppe's oil is great but CLP Breakfree is the best on the market. It will never gum up and cleans and protects 100%. CLP is the only oil to be used on M16's/AR-15's in the military.
5 Μαρ 2003 · All I know is that Hoppes Elite gun oil is the best gun oil that I have found. I can literally feel the slife work smoother. And the Hoppes Elite cleaner cleans the gun barrel quickly.
