21 Απρ 2022 · Grant funds support the creation of the Professional Learning by Choice Community or CHOICE, a research and development project funded for five years between 2021 and 2025, which will allow for teacher self-selected professional development opportunities for up to 1600 secondary STEM teachers across the Commonwealth.
Virginia offers K–12 students and their families several types of school choice, including a private school choice program, charter schools, magnet schools, home schooling and intra-district public school choice via an open enrollment policy.

School choice is also shown to improve public schools by increasing accountability, fostering competitiveness, and boosting student outcomes.
An incentive program has been designed to reward students for good behavior and to assure academic success. All students are expected to pass the Virginia Standards of Learning and to complete course work and return to their school in both good academic standing and with a new approach to positive conduct in a regular school environment.
