Void Knight armour contributes Defence bonuses to all stats equally (including Magic and Ranged) without lowering any attack bonuses. Wearing a complete set offers various combat bonuses which make the armour a popular choice for players using multiple attack styles.
Void is only good when 1. It is elite void, 2. Off task (unless u can do void +salve ei), 3. Vorkath, 4. Any pvm learming where you can afford to take more damage than usual and just need to focus on the boss and less on switches i.e zulrah amd raids
Void is worth it. Great for barrows, vorkath, quest bosses, fight caves, zulrah. If you're a Zerker or can't afford better armors, it's your best bet in many situations. It's also useful for TOB or Cox if you want to save inventory space, since you can just switch helmets as you switch combat styles. Vorkath does well with void ranged.
Void is absolutely worth it. It's a free armor set that is universally good, even being BIS for certain PvM situations. Plus it's a great way for newer PvMers to get into PvM without having to learn a ton of swaps. I hated pest control, but void is probably one of the best time investments I've made in game.

Elite Void Knight equipment, commonly called elite void, is an upgraded version of regular Void Knight equipment. The set has two pieces, the elite void top and elite void robe, and becomes available after completing the hard Western Provinces Diary.
The set bonus (see below) makes the armour a popular choice for all forms of attack (melee, ranged, and magic). A full set of Void Knight armour without the mace costs 850 points. Note: Void equipment is kept on death as long as you do not die in an instanced area or above level 20 wilderness.
