Breathing is a vital process that allows our bodies to take in necessary oxygen and expel waste carbon dioxide. Air enters through the nose or mouth, journeys down the throat, and reaches the lungs via tubes called bronchi.
The respiratory system creates gas exchange that supplies the body with oxygen and gets rid of carbon dioxide. The oxygen enters the nose, makes its way to the lungs, from there it makes its way into the blood stream, into the heart and then sent to supply the organs with oxygen and nutrients.
