To apply to the United States Air Force Academy, you must be of good moral character and meet these basic eligibility requirements: Be at least 17 years old but not past your 23rd birthday by July 1 of the year you enter the Academy.
For the current Admissions cycle, candidate kits will open July 1, 2024. Application deadlines are based on when you entered the candidate phase. Your specific deadline to complete your file is posted on your portal. You must complete the required items by the deadline posted.
All prospective cadet candidates must: Be at least 17 years old and not have passed their 22 birthday by July 1 of the year they enter the Preparatory School. Be eligible to be a U.S. citizen. Be unmarried and have no dependents. Meet specific medical standards for a commission in the Air Force.

ACADEMIC PREPARATION. For admission to the Academy, we consider your high school grades, class standing and SAT or ACT scores. Both the SAT and ACT can be taken as many times as possible before the application deadline — we only count your highest scores on each test.
To be eligible to apply to the Academy, applicants must be: at least 17 but not past their 23rd birthday by July 1 of the year they enter the Academy; a U.S. Citizen (international students are eligible under different requirements) and unmarried with no dependents.
