  1. For the current Admissions cycle, candidate kits will open July 1, 2024. Application deadlines are based on when you entered the candidate phase. Your specific deadline to complete your file is posted on your portal. You must complete the required items by the deadline posted.

  2. A Strong Student Body. At the U.S. Air Force Academy, you’re more than a GPA to us. When we consider applicants for admission, academics do play an important part, but we’re also interested in your athletics, extracurricular activities, leadership positions and overall character.

  4. Be at least 17 years old and not have passed their 22 birthday by July 1 of the year they enter the Preparatory School. Be eligible to be a U.S. citizen. Be unmarried and have no dependents. Meet specific medical standards for a commission in the Air Force.

  5. Usually in September, cadets can access the student database and look up when each of their final exams are scheduled. Cadets are typically permitted to leave after their Last Military Duty (LMD) on the release date.

  6. DEAN OF FACULTY PORTAL. The Dean of Faculty Portal (DF Portal) is a one-stop location for essential resources and departmental information. This internal SharePoint site is accessible to all Dean of Faculty personnel with a valid MissionNet account. If you experience issues, please contact USAFA.DFT@afacademy.af.edu.

  7. You’ll face a rigorous schedule, extremely high expec-tations and strict rules of conduct. Upon graduation you’ll receive a Bachelor of Science degree and a commission as an oficer in the Air Force or Space Force. Your commitment to serve will be at least five years.
