I’m new to making/editing YouTube videos, and i mainly focus on video essays about all sorts of media. I want to make one about a Netflix series, but I have no clue how many YouTubers get their footage for their videos. Any tips or websites to use?
I rip my blurays or use private screeners sent through Vimeo/YouTube for all of my reviews. If it's a new film in theaters or Netflix, there are often 10+ one minute long clips that I can source footage from to create a cohesive review.
Your editing and delivery are good, but you just need to practice making more videos and get content up so you learn what works and what doesn't. Your titles don't sell your content or create tension with the audience that needs to be resolved.
Once you've made a couple dozen videos, it can really help you understand your growth to go back and rewatch old videos. Quality vs quantity -- After making one video per week for a year, I can definitely say that both are equally important, and you have to find the middleground between them.
That's why I'm turning to the Reddit community for some practical advice, useful resources, and personal experiences to help me kick-start my video-making journey. I'm looking for any guidance or materials that can provide me with the fundamentals of video creation.
