These usually are hacks of games made in a patch format to avoid copyright issues (this is why it's hard to find pre-patched hacks for super Mario, for example). You must use an external program like Lunar ips or Rom Patcher JS (online rom patcher).

They are definitely not high level stuff, mostly a showcase of how to use tools like Tinke, Kiwi, PokeDS/Pis, DS Text Editor, and PPRE for trainer editing.
3 Μαΐ 2011 · The most common program that is used for Nintendo DS hacks is xDelta. To create a patch, you will need both the original, unmodified, untrimmed game, and the game you have modified. If someone has downloaded your hack, he/she has to use the same program you used.
