By pressing R ingame, you can play a held instrument with the computer’s keyboard, and this is how we will play our songs. Note you cannot move while R mode is active. Playing Instruments. Once an instrument is equipped, you can play notes by using the numpad (by default). You can also hold numpad+ to play a sharp note and numpadenter to shift down an octave. Assign numbers from the numeric keypad on the right side of your keyboard for easier playing.
