16 Μαΐ 2017 · Soldering with Stay Brite 8 does not require nitrogen flushing, but in my opinion brazing is usually better. I believe soft soldered refrigerant piping is actually against code due to the risk of joints coming apart during a fire.
28 Ιουν 2017 · You could get away with it in drain lines, cold water fittings, and cold water lines that won’t experience large changes in pressure or temperature, but generally, you’ll want to use one that contains anywhere between 15 and 30 percent silver, known as a soft solder.
Solders are typically considered a plumbing product. But, did you know low-temperature tin/silver solders have higher strength and ductility than typical plumbing solders? This makes them suitable for most residential HVAC connections.
19 Ιουν 2012 · There are several types of soft solder. 50/50 lead/tin was common and 95/5 tin / antimony was also used. Today there are silver bearing soft solders that will do even better. I have seen more leaks on brazed joints than on soft joints largely because brazing takes more skill.
