I am unable to get a HP Envy 27" Monitor to detect my Apple MacBook Pro 2015 model using HP's provided HDM-HDMI cable assembly. I have confirmed that my macbook pro drives another monitor with this port (older Samsung model). Has anyone else run into this and have a solution?

If your Mac doesn’t recognize that a separate display is connected, you can try to detect it in System Settings, or try one of the other troubleshooting tips below. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Displays in the sidebar.

8 Μαΐ 2020 · Product: HP 21KD Monitor. Operating System: macOS 10.15 Catalina. I am using a VGA to HDMI cable and the monitor is not recognizing the Mac. When I connect the monitor the laptop restarts. Error message on the monitor is that the cable is not connected to the mac. Cables are tight.
