In this study, we use novel methods to estimate life expectancy in the USA annually from 2000 to 2019, stratified by county and racial/ethnic group. We use these estimates to describe spatial and temporal patterns in life expectancy and in disparities among racial/ethnic groups.
Disparities in LE across states increased for women within each of the three race/ethnicity groups between 1990 and 2019, but increased most for non-Hispanic White women and non-Hispanic Black women (6.6 and 5.8 years, respectively) and least for Hispanic women (1.5 years).
