It is headed by a Director (an officer of the level of Secretary to the Government of India) and is an attached office of the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India.
Campuses. The Academy is located at Mussoorie, a hill station at a height of little above 6580 ft. It is 35 Km. by road from the rail head at Dehradun and some 270 km. north of Delhi. From the main campus built on the Charleville estate, there have been subsequent expansions.
This rigorous training regimen, conducted at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie, is designed to mold individuals into skilled administrators who can tackle the complex challenges of governance in India.
