“The role of global citizenship education (GCED) is very relevant to the realization of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The three areas of sustainability, namely economic growth, social inclusion and environmental protection, rely on the contribution of informed citizens.
The publication intends to guide readers on how to use education, and in particular ESD, in achieving the SDGs. It identifies learning objectives, suggests topics and learning activities for each SDG, and describes implementation on diferent levels from course design to national strategies.
The ESD for 2030 roadmap sets out the urgent challenges facing the planet and underlines the implementation of the Education for Sustainable Development: Towards achieving the SDGs (ESD for 2030) framework, which aims to increase education’s role in building a more just and sustainable world.
