Here is a glossary of comic book terms, that are regularly used in comic book media and discussion, to help those new to comics.
Comic books are typically published as either an ongoing series (a series that runs indefinitely), as a limited series (a series intended to end after a certain number of issues), or as a one shot (a comic book which is intended as a one-off publication).
Cover – The cover art to a published comic book. This is the original art to Captain America #171. The title is a stat (see below) and the figures are on vellum (see below).

Crossover: A storyline that involves characters from different comic book series or universes.
