Buckets are tools used to carry water, lava, or honey, allowing them to be removed or placed. With an Empty Bucket, pressing the ⚒ Use / Attack button on any sufficient body of liquid collects it, which replaces the Empty Bucket with the respective Water Bucket, Lava Bucket, or Honey Bucket.
You need to have found the the mechanic npc or steam punk npc to buy the generator for this method. If you can't get it then duping with buckets is your next best bet.
You get both from the angler by giving him the bumblebee fish. In pre hard mode there's a chance to get either the honey sponge or honey bucket along with the usual items and in hard mode it guarantees you'll get either the sponge or bucket.
