26 Απρ 2022 · The recent research findings on influenza A virus (IAV) genome biology prompted us to present a comprehensive overview of IAV genes, protein functions, and replication cycle. The eight gene segments of the IAV genome encode 17 proteins, each having unique functions contributing to virus fitness in the host.

Influenza viruses are members of the family Orthomyxoviridae and include influenza virus types A, B, and C. Influenza viruses possess seven (influenza C) or eight (influenza A and B) genome segments composed of negative sense single-stranded RNA.
This chapter describes the structure of the genes of influenza A, B, and C viruses Influenza viruses contain a segmented single-stranded RNA genome that has been called negative stranded because the viral messenger RNA (mRNAs) are transcribed from the viral RNA segments.
22 Ιουλ 2019 · Influenza A viruses (IAVs) constitute a major threat to human health. The IAV genome consists of eight single-stranded viral RNA segments contained in separate viral ribonucleoprotein (vRNP)...
Only influenza A viruses infect nonhuman hosts, and a reassortment of genes can occur between those subtypes that typically infect animals and those that infect humans, resulting in antigenic...
Influenza A viruses (IAVs) constitute a major threat to human health. The IAV genome consists of eight single-stranded viral RNA (vRNA) segments contained in separate viral ribonucleoprotein complexes (vRNPs) that are packaged together into a single virus particle.
13 Μαΐ 2010 · The influenza A and B virus genomes consist of 8 separate segments, each coding for 1 or several functionally important proteins required for virus entry, replication or virus structure. HA binds to its cellular receptor, sialic acid (N-acetyl-neuraminic acid).
