Here are some bits of information that have proved useful during my build of the “MOD 800 2204 Small Box kit – 50w Output – Master Volume British Amp Kit” from Modulus Amplification, a UK-based amplifier kit supplier. Schematic of the JCM800 power amps and PSU with 2x EL34 (50W) or 4x EL34 (100W) for models: 1959, 1987, 2203, 2204, 2103 & 2104, (Marshall, 1981). JCM800 4140 Club and Country, 100W 2×12″ combo These amps were introduced in april 1978 and were discontinued in 1982.

25 Ιαν 2011 · #1. Best output tubes for JCM-800. 01-25-2011, 10:42 PM. I'm already set on getting a full set of Sovtek 12AX7LPS tubes for the incoming 2204. Which EL34 output tubes sound the best in this amp in your opinion? I'm looking for full but tight bass, creamy warm mids and smooth highs.
The Ceriatone British Style 2204 HW is our take on a timeless amplifier design first introduced in the 1970s. The 2204 HW 50w amplifier is based on the first “master volume” design in the British Series, and became the tonal inspiration for some of the most coveted rock tones recorded.
A one channel amp with no reverb or built in effects, it is the essence of simplicity, capable of producing pure tube tones without anything that might compromise them. The reissue has a series effect loop with a true bypass switch allowing a bit more flexibility, but also nothing to get in the way of the tone purist.
