Here are some bits of information that have proved useful during my build of the “MOD 800 2204 Small Box kit – 50w Output – Master Volume British Amp Kit” from Modulus Amplification, a UK-based amplifier kit supplier. Schematic of the JCM800 power amps and PSU with 2x EL34 (50W) or 4x EL34 (100W) for models: 1959, 1987, 2203, 2204, 2103 & 2104, (Marshall, 1981). JCM800 4140 Club and Country, 100W 2×12″ combo These amps were introduced in april 1978 and were discontinued in 1982.

This is my second Mojotone kit build and another reason to recommend Mojotone for their quality, customer support and accuracy in emulating the sound of another classic amp circuit! Build the circuit per the instructions and you will have the iconic tones of the JCM800 2204 of old.
14 Αυγ 2015 · MIKE’S TUBE AMP PAGES has an excellent overview (probably the best), as do books from Groove Tubes and Kendrick. These are typically in ‘The Trainwreck Pages’. The phase-inverter can also be modded for more gain. Rather than the 82K/100K plate-load pairing, try 100K/120K or 120K/150K.

Mine will be a head, chassis on bottom of cab tubes facing up. Edit: single input and output jacks. Finally getting this started, a little at a time.
This stage, I took from a schematic I found for the Hughes&Kettner Tri-Amp, which uses 2 tubes before the cold clipper, as the mod suggests. However, with the switching, the gain pot comes only after the 2nd tube , which is problematic for stability , as you can hear in the demo.
