8 Δεκ 2020 · On surface analysis charts, a "DEVELOPING STORM" label indicates storm force winds forecast within the next 24 hours. When the label is used on the 48, 72, or 96 hour surface charts, storm force winds are expected to develop by 72, 96, or 120 hours, respectively.

Weather charts consist of curved lines drawn on a geographical map in such a way as to indicate weather features. These features are best shown by charts of atmospheric pressure, which consist of isobars (lines of equal pressure) drawn around depressions (or lows) and anticyclones (or highs).
As illustrated in the chart below, the character and intensity of precipitation (intermittent or continuous; slight, moderate, or heavy) can be indicated with unique arrangements of the basic symbols.
