The Driver License Check system can be used to review the status of certain items connected to your driver license (e.g. driver status and driver improvement school eligibility) or to update your social security number or insurance information.
When launched, Florida motorists can download and activate the optional and easy-to-use Florida Smart ID for a contact-free and convenient way to display proof of identity or age. If you have questions regarding Florida Smart ID, please email FloridaSmartID@flhsmv.gov.
When you check your driver license status by entering the number above, if it displays "VALID," it simply indicates the FLHSMV has already received information and cleared your record. You may disregard any notice you received and print the response as your latest official receipt from the FLHSMV.
Apply for a replacement Florida driver’s license, ID card, CDL, and Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). Request and pay for your driver’s registration, which you can mail, send by certified mail, or print from your personal printer. Update your car insurance information to remove existing penalties. Update your emergency contact information (ECI).
