31 Οκτ 2012 · Our study showed that the mean IQ scores of long-term survivors of ALL that were treated with IT MTX was lower than their healthy siblings. Although this decrease is subtle, it is consistent with the previous reports and shows the toxic effects of CNS chemotherapy.
They actually report that there was limited evidence of a link between IQ and incidence of cancer, which disappeared after correction for socioeconomic class. One exception was the IQ–skin cancer relationship, with increased rates evident in the higher IQ scoring men.
