Understanding Safeguarding: Demonstrate an understanding of why safeguarding children and young people in sport is important. Recognising the Signs: Demonstrate knowledge of the different categories of child abuse and identify the signs of abuse.
26 Φεβ 2019 · The new Safeguarding Guidance, which was developed in conjunction with Sport NI and National Governing Bodies of Sport addresses issues facing sports leaders involved in children and young people’s sport by providing guidance relating directly to their roles and responsibilities within their clubs.
All Coaches, Children’s Officers and Designated Liaison Persons (DLP) must first complete the 3 hour Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Course. This course educates participants on the implementation of best practice in protecting the welfare of children involved in sport.
28 Ιαν 2022 · As advised on Wednesday, January 26th, all sporting organisations across Ireland are required to complete a Sport Ireland Club Safeguarding Self-Assessment Audit 2021-2022. Today, the IABA is providing access links to complete the process and resources to assist in completing the audit.
The Irish Sports Council has launched a “Safe Sport” app, based on their Code of Ethics & Good Practice for Children’s Sport courses. It is an information and guidance tool for everyone involved in sport for children and young people.
