18 Ιουλ 2022 · Hemp was made legal federally by the 2018 Farm Bill and in Texas by House Bill 1325, which Gov. Greg Abbott signed in 2019. Now, CBD products are being sold across the state.
Texas adopted the federal definitions for hemp and marijuana, and as such CBD oils or products made from hemp are legal in the state. The Hemp Farming Act defines legal CBD as CBD derived from cannabis plants (hemp) that contain no more than 0.3% THC content by weight.
House Bill 1325 legalized the cultivation, processing, and sale of industrial hemp and hemp-derived products, including CBD, in Texas. This bill aligned state law with the federal 2018 Farm Bill, allowing CBD products containing no more than 0.3% THC to be legally sold and possessed in the state.
