The acropolis museum is one of the best museums I have ever been to - it is 100% worth it especially after seeing the acropolis. The level of detail and the whole layout is astounding. Also very interesting how they have special spaces for artifacts that are currently in the British museum.
The Areopagus I mainly had a look around and left due to the tourists piling up for the photo op... Maybe it's different now. One other thing: The national archeological museum in Athens is definitely worth a visit: It has been called one of the finest museums of the world.
Photos of most pieces can be found online if you really need the photo—the reality though is most of these museum photos are never looked at again after a day or two goes by.
