  1. The acropolis museum is one of the best museums I have ever been to - it is 100% worth it especially after seeing the acropolis. The level of detail and the whole layout is astounding. Also very interesting how they have special spaces for artifacts that are currently in the British museum.

  2. I have a big fascination for philosophy and the Ancient Greek culture. So for my trip to Athens I really wanted to learn more about it's rich history with context. I thought solo-ing the Acropolis and it's museum at my pace would do that, but it has left me feeling disappointed.

  3. The National Archeology is IMO a better overall museum as it gives an overview of all Ancient Greek art from the very beginning up until Roman times, but the Acropolis museum is nice to supplement your trip to the Acropolis.

  4. My partner and I will be in Athens second week of April this year (next week!) and we are wondering if it's worth paying the extra 8euro for skip the line tickets. Has anyone been there recently? How long are the lines?? I'd prefer to go mid-afternoon, but if the lines are 'free' in the morning I'm happy to go then too! Thanks!

  5. You can visit the Museum before or after the Acropolis (do note you’ll need a separate ticket). It comes down to personal preference, however, if you only have one day, I’d recommend visiting the Acropolis first to avoid the crowds. Only after, move on to the Museum.

  6. Visiting the Acropolis Museum is more than just another item on your ‘things to do in Athens’ list. It’s an invitation to time travel, to lose yourself in the depths of history and mythology, to witness first-hand the very foundations of our civilisation.

  7. The Acropolis Museum is a must-visit for anyone coming to Athens. Whether to enjoy the views or the architecture, or to delve into the breadth and depth of material– there’s always something new to see and more to gain from this incredible resource.
