In this edition of TOYOTAtech, we’ll take a look at Toyota’s pink coolant and some of the cooling system components that use this coolant, including electric coolant pumps, EGR coolers and heat exchangers.
25 Ιαν 2024 · HOAT coolant in Asian vehicles is red and in American it’s gold. Now, they have POAT (phosphate organic acid) and PIAT (phosphate-inorganic acid) and apparently PHOAT (phosphate hybrid organic acid). Apparently phosphate is the newest “best” thing for coolant because it coats metals from corrosion.
22 Απρ 2024 · Unlike the red coolant, the long-lasting pink coolant also comes diluted, so it's known to last significantly longer. Initially, Toyota mentioned that its pink variant could last up to 100,000 ...
Toyota currently recommends SLLC for all Toyota cooling systems, both for the internal combustion engine and hybrid power electronics. In this edition of TOYOTAtech, we’ll take a look at Toyota’s pink coolant and some of the cooling system components that use this coolant, including electric coolant pumps, EGR coolers and heat exchangers.
13 Ιουν 2022 · After doing more research I found out Toyota switched coolants in 2004 from the red Toyota Extended Life coolant (Inorganic Acid Technology aka IAT) to the present pink Toyota Super Long Life coolant (Phosphate Organic Acid Technology aka POAT).
21 Ιουν 2018 · Toyota's pink coolant uses sebacate as the organic acid and it seems the Japanese have settled on that. It seems like Zerex is using sodium benzoate as the OAT for their Asian series of coolants. Organic acids are known plasticizers as well.
Hybrid Organic Acid Technology (HOAT): Many auto manufacturers dislike the fact that OAT coolants don’t protect exposed metal as well as IAT coolants do, but they still like that OAT coolants last longer, are safer to use, and are more environmentally friendly. They came up with a solution: HOAT.
