Isaiah 9:6 emphatically declares, “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
Isaiah 9:6 has no bearing upon the position and titles of the three Persons of the Trinity with regard to each other; it does not indicate the relation of Deity to itself, but the relation of Jesus Christ to us. He is forever father-like in his character and action toward his spiritual children.
