8 Ιαν 2024 · GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — Waste from a packing plant went downstream as state regulators say the JBS beef plant in Grand Island released an estimated two million gallons of wastewater, some going into area rivers.
9 Ιαν 2024 · “At approximately 5 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, Swift Beef (also known as JBS) in Grand Island had a breach of one of their anaerobic wastewater lagoons. The facility estimates approximately 4 million gallons of wastewater discharged from the lagoon with approximately 2 million gallons leaving the property.

We took immediate action when the incident occurred, coordinating with state officials, and partnering with third-party contractors to assist in remediation and cleanup.
