9 Ιουν 2003 · A 1957 10 hp outboard would call for a 24:1 mixture. That is a quart of oil to 6 gallons of gas. They smoke more than a little but they run forever.

17 Αυγ 2007 · You have to remember that 50:1 is a ratio, not a percentage (as in 50 parts of gas for every 1 part of oil). As a percentage it's 2% oil in the gas. 24:1 is about 4% oil in the gas.

31 Μαρ 2022 · I just bought a Larson Crestliner 14 foot boat and it came with a 1955 QD-16 Johnson Seahorse 10 horse motor. In the instruction manual it says to mix one-half pint of Mobiloil Outboard motor oil per gallon of gas. That figures out to a 16:1 ratio. Do you still use that ratio of 16:1 when mixing gas with today’s’ modern two stroke oil?
20 Μαΐ 2013 · I just wanted to show how much oil these older outboards used. My Elgin/Firestone/Westbend ratio is 16:1. I did read you could use a little less oil with our newer more modern 2 cycle oils. http://www.oddjobmotors.com/elgin.htm
