James Robert Snyder (August 15, 1932 – March 9, 2021) was an American professional baseball player, coach and manager, best known for his 105-game stint as pilot of the 1988 Seattle Mariners, from June 6 through the end of the season.
James Robert Snyder was a Major League Baseball player with the Minnesota Twins (1961 - 1962; 1964). When Jim, his nickname, made his big league debut on September 15, 1961, he became the first Fordson High School graduate to play in the majors!

He died on March 9 in Lutz, Fla., at the age of 88. He was living nearby in Odessa at the time of his death.
