  4. 40 DAYS OF PRAYER & FASTING Fasting is truly a way to focus on God – spirit, soul, and body. FASTING SCHEDULE Please begin fasting Monday, August 6, 2018 at midnight and continue through Friday September 14, 2018 at noon. Please pray and meditate on the scriptures each day between the hours of 12:00am (midnight) and 12:00pm (Noon).

  5. During this fast, set aside four times during the day to pray: 9:00a.m, 12:00noon, 3:00p.m, and 6:00p.m. If you are an early riser, add a 6:00a.m prayer time. FASTING FOR ADVANCED LEVEL: In this type of fast, you drink only liquids, typically water with light juices as an option during the duration of the fast.

PREPARING TO FAST n Humble yourself before God with a contrite heart; pray for the enabling, guidance and protection of the Holy Spirit (Psalms 35:13; 1 Samuel 7:6; John 15:15-21, 16:5-15). n Determine the type of fast you will carry out: Liquid-only Fast – drinking water or juice. Partial Fast – abstain from certain selected food.

  7. Fasting and prayer can restore the loss of the “first love” for your Lord and result in a more intimate relationship with Christ. • Fasting is a biblical way to truly humble yourself in the sight of God (Psalm 35:13; Ezra 8:21).
