This page shows location and other relevant astronomical data in real time. The celestial coordinates, magnitude, distances and speed are updated in real time and are computed using high quality data sets provided by the JPL Horizons ephemeris service (see acknowledgements for details).

Webb is examining every phase of cosmic history: from the first luminous glows after the Big Bang to the formation of galaxies, stars, and planets to the evolution of our own solar system.
On this screen you can see that more temperature tracking data was added as well as dynamic interactive plots of the data. Also the timeline/schedule is extended well beyond the arrival at L2 and is now shown in Launch+Weeks along with the many new overlapping commissioning phases.

ESA, NASA and Arianespace have jointly defined 18 December 2021 as the target launch date for Ariane 5 flight VA256. This third Ariane 5 launch of 2021 will fly the James Webb Space Telescope to space from Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana.
18 Δεκ 2021 · Webb is targeted to launch at 7:20 a.m. EST Saturday, Dec. 25, on an ESA-provided Ariane 5 rocket from Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana, on the northeastern coast of South America. Live launch coverage in English will begin at 6 a.m. on NASA TV, the NASA app, and the agency’s website.
