15 Ιαν 2009 · The West Virginia Vital Registration Office is the state-level custodian of birth certificates for people born anywhere in West Virginia 1917 to date. The Vital Registration Office issues certified copies of birth certificates from the original certificate on file.
The most recent Vital Statistics report was published in December 2022 and includes statistics from data collected in 2019. The report covers the number of births, deaths, fetal deaths, marriages, and induced terminations of pregnancy that occurred in West Virginia or among West Virginia residents.
The Vital Research Records Project is placing Birth, Death, and Marriage certificates on-line. Users can search the records and view scanned images of the original records. Certified copies of these records are available only from the issuing county or the West Virginia Vital Registration Office.
