For purposes of this Guideline, ear keloid lesions are divided into 4 diferent categories according to their size. Papular ear keloids: the size of the keloid papules is a few millimeters to one centimeter. Nodular/tumoral ear keloids: lesions measuring one centimeter in diameter or more.
27 Οκτ 2023 · We herein report four centers experience on keloids combined treatment with three different devices performed in the same session: CO2 laser for removing keloids, Dye laser to reduce the vascularization, blue light (EmoLED®) 3–6 min (depending on keloids’ size) to improve and speed up the healing process.
This paper reviews the management options of ear keloids available in literature up to date. Multiple therapeutic options are discussed, such as: surgical treatment, corticosteroid injections, laser therapy, cryotherapy, radiotherapy, pressure therapy, therapy with antitumor or immunosuppressive agents.
Keloid scars: • are more common after skin injury on the upper chest, breastbone (sternum), shoulders, chin, neck, lower legs and earlobes (especially after ear piercing) • are most likely to form following burns, acne scars and wounds that become infected or where the skin becomes significantly tight whilst healing.
8 Δεκ 2020 · Earlobe keloid is encountered in young adults with different etiologies, with some of them occurring spontaneously and others being secondary to earlobe piercing. In both sexes, the lesions may be limited to the fold or the external canthus or embed the posterior part of the ear.
Keloids in surgical practice is a loathsome word hated by all due to its tendency to recur and lack of effective treatment. Keloids occurring on the external ear has become a special entity by itself because of their easy visibility and the trend for increasing ornamental ear piercing (Fig. 1).
