On March 16, 2009, WWE.com announced that the Von Erich family would be inducted into the 2009 class of the WWE Hall of Fame by long-time rival, Michael Hayes. The family members inducted were Fritz, Kevin, David, Kerry, Mike, and Chris Von Erich.

The Von Erichs, inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009, transcended the state of Texas in World Class Championship Wrestling and beyond in their rivalries with The Fabulous Freebirds and others.
WWE made two hall of fame rings with the name "Kerry Von Erich" inscribed on the inside. Both Hollie and Lacey along with their mother Cathy (Cathy and Kerry were divorced at the time of his death) attended the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on April 4, 2009.
The WWE Hall of Fame is a hall of fame which honors professional wrestlers and professional wrestling personalities maintained by WWE. Originally known as the "WWF Hall of Fame", it was created in 1993 when André the Giant was posthumously inducted with a video package as the sole inductee that year.
