30 Νοε 2023 · The Key Peninsula Board of Fire Commissioners unanimously voted to approve its 2024 budget for the KP fire district Nov. 14, calling for projected expenditures of some $13.9 million. It’s an 8% increase in overall expenses over the 2023 budget.
2 Αυγ 2023 · Key Peninsula Fire District personnel were dispatched 17 times on July 4, more than twice the daily average, including: 8 brush fires, including one mutual aid response in Kitsap County. 6 medical calls. 1 car accident. 1 tree down. 1 smoke investigation. There were no structure fires, water rescues, or any fireworks-related injuries.

Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 16, known as The Key Peninsula Fire Department was incorporated in 1952. The District is a combination fire department providing fire protection, rescue, emergency medical services, and prevention services to the communities located on the Key Peninsula.
Pierce County Fire District 16 operates as Key Peninsula Fire Department. Stations 44, 46, 47, & 49 are staffed 24/7 with career firefighters. Stations 45 & 48 are unstaffed.
