30 Νοε 2023 · The Key Peninsula Board of Fire Commissioners unanimously voted to approve its 2024 budget for the KP fire district Nov. 14, calling for projected expenditures of some $13.9 million. It’s an 8% increase in overall expenses over the 2023 budget.
Pierce County Fire Protection District No. 16, known as The Key Peninsula Fire Department was incorporated in 1952. The District is a combination fire department providing fire protection, rescue, emergency medical services, and prevention services to the communities located on the Key Peninsula.
District Stations. The District's stations are located throughout the Key Peninsula and on Herron Island. Each station has a mix of staffing and equipment that allows the District to provide services required by the community. The headquarters station is located in Key Center.
