14 Απρ 2023 · I think KIA has resolved the major issue -- a defective solder joint in the oil pump that is housed within the transmission. I have not seen any of these DCT failures crop up on the '23 model. But it will take several years before the reviewers put their faith back in the Sorento.
17 Ιουλ 2020 · From what I've read elsewhere, replacing a turbo by itself is often pointless; usually they fail through oil starvation, usually because the feed pipes 'gum-up' with burnt oil. If you don't replace the feed pipes, its only matter of time before the new turbo suffers a similar fate. Assuming that is, it's not a turbo defective from the factory.

1 Απρ 2021 · I've leased the kia ceed 1 litre from new. At around 17000 miles, the timing chain failed and needed replacement, which has been replaced. Now at 19000 miles, the turbo has failed and has been booked in for replacement.
19 Σεπ 2016 · I'll be honest though, if your trying to floor a cold turbocharged engine then you may need to reassess your driving style. It's very bad for the engine - probably why kia deemed it necessary?
8 Νοε 2021 · Thanks for your input, however our engine problems are purely a engineering failure in the design of the engine. The head bolts stud threads have stripped out of the block, therefore head bolt torque cannot be maintained and coolant is seeping into the inner engine.
