The South end of the Kiamichi Trace is at Beavers Bend State Park on Broken Bow Lake. Rent a cabin or camp out on the shores of the peaceful lake, or at least spend an afternoon exploring the many coves and crannies on the water via canoe or kayak.

24 Οκτ 2024 · The Choctaw Nation Adventure Trail passes near the historic Fort Towsen, and important outpost in Indian Territory. The Choctaw Nation Trail covers SE Oklahoma from McAlester to Broken Bow. There are several low-water crossings in the Kiamichi Mountains around Perkins, Cloudy, and Battiest.
Reaching from the banks of the Red River on Oklahoma's southern border, then stretching northeast to Fort Smith, Arkansas, the Kiamichi Trace is a breathtaking, scenic section of U.S. Highway 271 that was once a military trail connecting Fort Smith and Fort Towson.
The Kiamichi Street Rods Rod Run, held in Broken Bow City Park, will feature over 150 pre-1973 street rods. Hosted by the Kiamichi Street Rod Association, this annual event also features games for all ages, a poker run, door prizes and more.
